South Africa ‘A’ in seven wicket win

Sri Lanka ‘A’ suffered their third consecutive defeat by seven wickets against South Afirca ‘A’ in the Tri-nations series match played at Harare Sports Club, Zimbabwe yesterday. After winning the toss, Sri Lanka ‘A’ scored 245 for seven wickets in their 50 overs. Opener Udara Jayasundara smashed 55 runs with eight fours and all-rounder Dilruwan Perera scored 52 runs with seven fours and one six.

Later in the innings all-rounder Sachithra Serasinghe hammered 27 runs in 30 balls. South Africa ‘A’ skipper F du Plessis steered his team to victory with R R Hendricks with both batsmen unbeaten on 89 and 51 runs respectively. Earlier in the innings, opener R E Levi cracked 63 runs.

Sri Lanka ‘A': 245/7 in 50 overs (Dimuth Karunaratne 39, Udara Jayasundera 55, Chamara Kapugedera 37, Dilruwan Perera 52, Sachithra Serasinghe 27, R K Kleinveldt 2/38, C H Morris 1/27).

South Africa ‘A': 248/3 in 46 overs (R E Levi 63, C A Ingram 27, F du Plessis 89 n.o, R R Hendricks 51 n.o). (SJ)
