Water thieves in hot water

Three businessmen at Boragas, Welimada who obtained water illicitly for vegetable cultivation obstructing the main water pipe were taken into custody by Welimada Police.

They were produced before Welimada magistrate Sesiri Herath and remanded.

This pipe provides water to 34,000 families for government residential quarters business and commercial institutions. Investigations are continuing.
