Sexual abuse of children on the rise in Jaffna

Incidents of criminal force and sexual abuse on children below the age of 12 are on the increase in Jaffna. Fifteen incidents of sexual abuse were reported to Police last week. “Some offenders are hiding without being identified,” Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jaffna district, K E L Perera said at the weekly press briefing.

He said two incidents of sexual abuse in Columbuthurai and Kadduvan were reported. DIG Perera said the culprits were hiding and investigations were on arrest them.
