Wing Commander arrested over hoax

The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) arrested an Air Force Wing Commander who allegedly got a person to telephone the Air Force Commander posing as MP Namal Rajapaksa to cancel his transfer from Colombo to Vavuniya.

The Air Force Commander suspecting the call, had called for a police inquiry following which the CCD found that a Wing Commander attached to the Vavuniya camp had got another person to impersonate the Parliamentarian.

The suspect was subsequently arrested and produced before the Colombo magistrate who released him on personal bail of Rs one million entered into by two sureties.
