Suchira guides Cambrians to victory

Cambrian vice captain Suchira Fernando hit a quick 50 runs andguided Prince of Wales College for an eight wicket victory against LumbiniVidyalaya Colombo in their inter-schools under 17 division one crickettournament match played at BRC grounds Colombo.With this victory Cambrians have reserved a berth in the second round.

Lumbini decided to take the first lease and were all out for 154runs in 36.5 overs. Lakshan Dias was the top scorer for Lumbini. For CambriansThilan Nimesh excelled with the ball with 4 for 37.

The Cambrians reached the target quite easily for the loss oftwo wickets, with Suchira’s heroics.

Lumbini: 154 in 36.5 overs (Lakshan Dias 34, Chamara Nishantha 27, Tharushan Gayantha 20, Wasana Madushanka 28, Devaka Dabare 2/27, Shanuka Dulaj 2/27, Thilan Nimesh 4/37).

PWC: 158/2 in 32.3 overs (Suchira Fernando 50, Kusal Mendis 28, Ashen Mendis 26 n/o, Shanuka Dulaj 39 n/o).
