Nisansala and Pramoda take carrom titles

Nisansala Maduwanthi of Kegalla District and Pramoda Mendis of Colombo District secured the womens's and mens' carrom championship titles of the 2012 Youth Carrom Tournament recently held at the Federation of Carrom in Sri Lanka, Maharagama.

13 men's and 13 women's teams participated at the tourney.

The results:

(Women's - Single Champion Nisansala Maduwanthi (Kegalle District) 1st runners-up Apsara Umayanganie (Kandy)

Champion

Nisansala Maduwanthi Gunadasa and Madusha D Vithana (Kegalle) 1st runner-up Nuwanthika Prasadhi and Umayanganie Anutthara (Badulla) 2nd runner-up Novadya Madushani and Kumida Sathsarani (Colombo).

Men's - Single

Champion - Pramoda Mendis (Colombo) 1st runner up - Dinesh Nishan Fernando (Kalutara)

Mens' Double

Champion - Pramoda Madusanka Mendis and Kasun Sirimal Fernando (Colombo) 1st runner-up A C M Aslam and Joseph Dilan (Kurunegala) 2nd runner-up Anura Sulaka Fernando and M M Uzahar (Badulla).

The women's will be awarded and rewarded at the 24th National Youth Sports Festival to be held at Deyagama Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium in October 18, 19, 20 and 21.
