A superb 105 opening stand in twelve overs by
the Josephian openers, Nirvana Abeysekara 59 (in 53 balls with 11
boundaries) and Duran De Alwis 54 (in 46 balls with 9 boundaries and

Gurukula beat De Mazenod to emerge group leaders
Hashan Dumindu with a scintillating 130 runs
which included twelve hits to the rope and two over and facing 143
balls piloted his Alma-Mater for an easy 81 run victory over
formidable De Mazenod College, Kandana in their inter-school Under
17 Division one tournament cricket match conducted by Sri Lanka
Schools Cricket Association and worked off at Kandana. Gurukula has
emerged as Group Leaders of the tournament winning all the six
matches in the first round and now they have qualified for the
second round.

Ishara Madurangi (Ladies Open) K S T Chalitha
(Men’s open singles) and Vidyartha College Schoolboy 15-year-old
Udaya Ranasinghe won a triple crown each at the Open All Island
Ranking Table Tennis Championship 2012 organized by the Kandy
District Table Tennis Association (KDTTA) in collaboration with the
Sri Lanka Table Tennis Association and worked off at the Jagath
Rajapakse International Table Tennis Stadium at Ganegoda, off
Peradeniya.
