Gurukula beat De Mazenod to emerge group leaders

Hashan Dumindu with a scintillating 130 runs which included twelve hits to the rope and two over and facing 143 balls piloted his Alma-Mater for an easy 81 run victory over formidable De Mazenod College, Kandana in their inter-school Under 17 Division one tournament cricket match conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and worked off at Kandana. Gurukula has emerged as Group Leaders of the tournament winning all the six matches in the first round and now they have qualified for the second round.

Electing to bat visitors totalled 238 runs and in reply homesters could manage only 157 runs with Yohan Deeshan and Duleep Akash scoring 43 and 44 runs respectively. Roshan Anuruddha claimed 4 for 25 for the winners.
