One of the worlds leading hotel supply manufactures JVD France is
looking at setting up a manufacturing plant in Sri Lanka. Currently JVD
France product market share in Sri Lanka is over 50% and when this
reaches 75%, the company would look at a manufacturing facility in Sri

emerging as a global economic giant in the world fuelled by rising
tourism industry and this has created many opportunities for them to
conduct sustainable businesses in this region.

“We will be more in the Asian region in the 21 century rather than
European markets. In hotel business in Europe, you wouldn’t find any
more high end hotels since they tend to build cheap hotels. As a result
of this JVD high end, high tech products will have more demand in the
rising tourism business in Asia. JVD has expanded it’s global reach up
to 85 countries with its offices in Singapore, Spain, Malaysia and
China.
JVD’s products and services seek to help its clients improve
productivity, minimise costs, protect assets, enhance convenience and
respect the environment.
JVD France, the first French manufacturer of hotel accessories is
gearing up to reap post war opportunities in Sri Lanka while sharply
expanding its presence in the booming Asian region during the 21
century. In an interview with Daily News Business, JVD France Sri Lanka
country Director, Heli Associates International pvt Ltd Managing
Director Asoka Fonseka said, “We see the potential for this market in
Sri Lanka known for her hospitality and we are the preferred supplier to
many leading hotel chains such as John Keells, Jet Wing, Aitken Spence ,
Confifi and other boutique hotel, in Sri Lanka with a market share of 50
% and we target JVD products for upcoming international hotel projects
in Sri Lanka , specially Shangri-La, Sixth Sense, Four Season ,BanyanTree
and Sheraton. It is expected to increase the JVD market share to 75 % in
years ahead.” Fonseka said the company will follow different market
strategies for Sri Lanka and Maldives to increase JVD sales revenue.
JVD France launched the commercially viable biometric safe on
Saturday, in conjunction with the Hotel show at the BMICH, while JVD
France - Sri Lanka office, plans to negotiate with JVD France and its
regional office in Asia to get the French patent to manufacture the box
in Sri Lanka, which is used for making safes.
“We are looking at the possibilities to have an assembling line here
to fix all electronic parts needed for the manufacture of safes which
would be able to curtail the increasing freight and clearing charges
with this initiative,”he added.
