Wife stabbed

Weeraketiya Police have commenced a search operation to arrest a man who allegedly stabbed his wife to death on Sunday.

Investigations revealed that the suspect had stabbed the victim after a quarrel between them, while she was bathing in the Meegasara canal in Weeraketiya with her two daughters.

Police said Nirosha Malkanthi of Athuhena, Medagama died on admission to Weeraketiya hospital.
