Goda gets man Rs 87,000 fine

A suspect found guilty of keeping 1,920 drams of goda in his possession illegally was fined Rs 87,000 when produced before the Kebetigollewa magistrate and district judge Gayan Meegahage recently. The magistrate who observed the suspect had 16 previous convictions, sentenced him to one year imprisonment in default of the fine. Horowpothana Police prosecuted.
