ICTA exhibition and seminar on ‘How ICT makes business grow’
The Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA)
will conduct a seminar and exhibition at the Matara Sanaya Mansion on
July 7 from 9.00 a.m. to 4. p.m.
Eminent speakers from leading companies will deliver addresses on the
effective use of ICT for business and implementing the web presence at
this event.
The first exhibition for carrying the message that the ‘use of ICT
will greatly improve businesses’ was held in Kandy on 23 and 24 March,
2012.
Nine companies from Kandy and seven firms from Colombo exhibited
their products and services at this Kandy event.
The Matara event, like its predecessor in Kandy, will give the
business community in Matara an ideal opportunity to explore various
products and solutions under one roof. It will also enable companies to
interact with one another and find solutions that can be tailor-made for
their requirements.
“This series of exhibition cum seminar is being held under the
Domestic IT Small and Medium Business (SMB) Linkages Programme of ICTA’s
Investment and Private Sector Development Programme,” an official from
ICTA said.
The goal of the project is to promote the introduction and
utilisation of ICT in businesses and SMEs throughout a network of
regional towns majority being outside Colombo.
There are many IT SME’s in Sri Lanka with technology offerings which
could fulfill the needs of Businesses including SME’s in both the public
and private sectors.
It is also necessary to create an opportunity for IT-SME’s to
showcase their products and service offerings.
The event is partnered with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and the
Matara District Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
ICTA sources said that the whole business community including the
large scale businesses as well as the small and medium size enterprises
will greatly benefit from the exhibition cum seminar. |
