Indian KMH hospitals to open in Colombo, Jaffna, Batticaloa

The Indian medical giant, Dr. Kamakshi Memorial Group of Hospitals (KMH) will soon expand its services to Sri Lanka.

They will establish three Kidney dialysis centres in Colombo, Batticaloa and Jaffna shortly in its first stage of expansion.

The President-Founder and the Managing Director of the hospital Dr. T. G. Govindarajan who was in Colombo during the weekend said that his hospital will first establish Kidney dialysis centres and later would look to expand to other areas.

According to him the centre in Colombo will be opened in August and it will have the capacity to accommodate 30 patients for dialysis, per day. The centres in Batticaloa and Jaffna will be opened by December this year.

Speaking about his group of hospitals in India and other countries, Dr. Govindarajan said that his chain of hospitals are committed to deliver scientific modern medical care to the society with International standards at an affordable cost. “The rates at the dialysis centres slated to come up in Sri Lanka too will be very competitive. Our equipment is the best of its kind,”¯ he added.

The centres will utilize both local and Indian expertise and according to Dr. Govindarajan will be established with local collaboration.

Public Relations Officer of KMH in Sri Lanka Asokan Fernando said that the hospital is planning to hold free medical clinics for Kidney patients in various parts of the country with local help to coincide with its expansion in to Sri Lanka.

Also the hospital chain in South India at present treats a large number of Sri Lankan's for various diseases at very affordable rates, he said.

Dr. Kamakeshi Memorial Hospitals in India provides services to all the divisions of health care from Trauma, geriatric, Cardiac, Pediatrics, cancer care and many other facilities all under one roof.
