Woman granted bail

Colombo High Court Judge Bandula Attapattu granted bail to a female accused on Tuesday when she was taken into custody on a complaint of cheating a young woman on the pre text of admitting her to a foreign university.

The accused was ordered to be released on a Rs. 50,000 cash bail and Rs. 300,000 surety bail with two sureties. Her passport was impounded. The case will be taken up on July 25.
