A foreign national trying to smuggle 13,200 US dollars without making a declaration while on transit from Pakistan to China was nabbed at the Bandaranaike International Airport by Airport Customs in the wee hours yesterday. Investigations are continuing by a customs team comprising Customs Superintendent T. Welikala and Assistant Superintendents Anil Jayakody, Nadeera Jayalath, Madhava Perera, T. Senatillake and R.G. Stern action against illegal migrants

Police Spokesman SP Ajith Rohana said that the Police would take stern action against those who who attempt to migrate to other countries illegally as most of them seek asylum in those countries alleging baseless reasons that tarnish the country’s image.
