Two accidents: one dies

Two vehicle accidents occurred in the Dambulla Police Division, killing a youth on admission to Dambulla Base Hospital and injuring another severely.

A motorbike and cab belonging to the STF collided on the Dambulla-Oya dam side road injuring the cyclist severely. He was rushed to Dambulla Base Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim was identified as E.G. Upul Sampath Premathilaka of Habaraththawela.

The other accident took place on the Kandalama-Dambulla road. A lorry crashed onto a motorcycle injuring the cyclist severely. He was hospitalized.

The injured was identified as Roshan Wimalaratna, 20, of Eravila area. Dambulla Police are investigating.
