'Police should contribute to development'

Police personnel should contribute to the country's development by rendering a service to the satisfaction of the people, said DIG Hambantota Nandana Wijeratna addressing a workshop at the Tangalle Police Headquarters.

The workshop was held to educate police officers in 14 police stations and 15 STF camps on the Tea Productivity Award 2012 ceremony to be held at the end of the year.

The workshop was organised by Tangalle police division SP C. E. Wedisinghe.

DIG Nandana Wijeratna said the people expect speedy and correct solutions for their problems.

Police personnel must be ready to give prompt attention to the problems and grievances of the people.
