Musicians in the making

Alliance Française De Colombo has once again organised ‘Fête de La Musique’ International Music Day which will come alive at their Air Conditioned Auditorium at No. 11, Barnes Place, Colombo 7 on June 16 from 10 am to 5 pm. Entrance is free.

This unique musical event began in France in 1982 and now this music festival is celebrated all over the world and every year Professional and Amateur Musicians in France take to the streets and parks on this day to celebrate the arrival of Summer after a dismal Spring. It is free of charge and thousands and thousands of people flock to these parks and streets and performers embrace all kinds of music and nothing is out of place and it goes on the whole day.

In Colombo it is going to be a day full of music pop, jazz, country and western, hippo, baila and the response has been Overwhelming and the organisers are having a problem of giving a chance for everyone.

There will be many talented up and coming artists performing. Also there will be many Popular Professional Artists performing as Guset Artists and it is going be good music right throughout and all these artists will be backed by the Ever Popular Annesley Malewana and his Super Chimes.
