Lindsay Lohan in bad car crash
US: Perenially troubled actress Lindsay Lohan was treated in hospital
in Los Angeles Friday after her car collided with a large truck in which
her Porsche was written off, media reports said.
The TMZ celebrity news website said the star, who did not go in an
ambulance from the crash scene, underwent tests in the hospital’s
emergency room after her car crashed with an 18-wheeler on the Pacific
Coast Highway.
The actress seemed in “OK” condition and doctors were performing
tests, it said, adding that the Porsche was “totaled,” and that the
passenger window was shattered and the rear bumper was torn off.
The accident occurred on the coastal highway in Santa Monica, a
seafront town to the west of Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles
Times, citing police.
Publicists for Lohan did not immediately respond to requests for
confirmation of the report.
Lohan has recently been working in Canada making a television movie
about Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor and her stormy romance with
actor Richard Burton.
The “Liz and Dick” role is a break for Lohan, 25, who after a
promising early start has become known chiefly as a hell-raising
celebrity with substance abuse problems and frequent brushes with the
law.
In March an LA judge formally ended Lohan’s probation after a long
string of court appearances, but told the “The Parent Trap” and “Freaky
Friday” star to “stop the nightclubbing” and behave more maturely.
