Ship with cars arrives at H'tota

A car carrier with 15 brand new cars arrived at the Hambantota Sea Port yesterday, for the first time.

The ship, FRISIA is capable of carrying about 3,500 cars. The chairman SLPA Priyath Bandu Wickrama drove the first car to the sea port premises from the ship. A second ship, a transshipment vessel arrived at 11.20 am carrying 998 vehicles. The vehicles will be unloaded at the Hambantota sea port and taken to Nigeria in another vessel on June 15.

The Deputy Minister Ports and Highways accompanied MP Namal Rajapaksa as he drove a car from the ship to the sea port premises.
