Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) win both Team Championship and
Overall Championships in the Government Services Table Tennis
Championships which was held May 21 and 22 at the St. Thomas Indoor
Sports Complex, Mt. Lavinia.
CMC team comprising Nuwan Sampath, N H Piyadasa, G G Weerakkody,
Chandana Perera, Prabath Nimesh, S U B Dolapihilla won the Overall
Championships. In the finals of the team championship, CMC beat
Government Press 3 to 1. Nuwan Sampath beat P D Gajendrasiri of
Government Press in the men's open finals and beat P S De Silva and
Isuru Sri Sampath also from the Government Press combining with Prabath
Nimesh in the doubles event. G G Weerakkody lost to P S De Silva at the
finals of over 45 years men's event. |
