Man shot dead

A 35 year old man was shot dead by unidentified gunmen at Mawathagama, Rabottha on Thursday morning. The victim was identified as Sumith Kumara of Rabottha, a businessman in the Mawathagama area. He was the father of one. The gang had also threatened residents at gun point and robbed cash and jewellery worth over Rs 70,000.

Police said the gang members had been released from prison recently after being convicted on felony charges. A search operation is on to arrest the suspects.
