Rider dies in collision

A motorcyclist died on admission to Puttalam Hospital following a motorcycle, van-bus collision at Kalladi on the Puttalam-Kurunegala road on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased was identified as N Ajith Sisira Kumara, 37, of Hudaliyawa, Diganwewa.

The accident occurred when the motorcyclist tried to overtake a van proceeding along the Puttalam-Kurunegala road.

The van had hit the motorcycle which got pushed against the oncoming bus. Puttalam Police took the two drivers of the van and bus along with their vehicles into custody.
