Year Five exam in August

The Year 5 Scholarship Examination 2012 will be held on August 26, Examination Commissioner General WMNJ Pushpakumara said.

According to the Commissioner General no changes have been made to the structure or the content of the examination papers. The answering time will also remain unchanged. "As usual there will be two examination papers. The first paper will evaluate human abilities of the student while the second paper will measure the knowledge gathered by the student while studying in grade 3, 4 and 5" Commissioner General Pushpakumara said.

Speaking on the content of the second paper, the Commissioner added that the question paper will be prepared based on the content of the three school text books which are taught in Grade 3, 4 and 5.

Any student who faces the Year Five Scholarship Examination can perform well since the student has learned these three text books.

Therefore, students who have learned the lessons of these three text books will not face any difficulty when answering the second paper, Pushpakumara added.

"No question will be prepared out of the text books" he noted.

On the advice of the Education Minister, the Examinations Department will issue the scholarship examination results as early as possible.
