Construction of the Technological Park
(NCTP) being inaugurated by Economic Development
Minister Basil Rajapaksa, Minister of Construction and
Housing Common Amenities Wimal Weerawansa and Deputy
Minister of Technology and Reasearch Pavithra Wanniarachchi
at the State Engineering Corporation premises at Peliyagoda. |
The National Construction Technology Park (NCTP) was inaugurated at
Peliyagoda yesterday. The total investment of the project is Rs. 240
million and was provided by the treasury. The park is scheduled to be
completed in three years.
The theme park consists of all amenities needed for the construction
industry.
After the completion of this construction park a trade pavilion for
visitors would be available and a museum displaying ancient construction
technologies and modern innovations too would be on display.
A training area, academy for teaching new technology too would be
available at this complex with testing labs, residential facilities.This
academy will organize frequent discussions, symposiums and research
programmes on various subjects mainly related to construction.
NCTP is a joint programme of ICTAD, the apex regulatory body of the
industry with State Engineering Corporation and NERDC, National
Engineering Research and Development Centre, which operates under the
purview of the Ministry of Technology and Research and Ministry of
Construction, Engineering services and Housing Common Amenities.
