KOICA conducts fruit, vegetable processing workshop
A workshop on "How to get more income through fruit and vegetable
processing" was held on April 28 at the Colombo University Institute for
Agro Technology and Rural Sciences (UCIARS) at Weligatta in Hambantota
in the presence of the Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa, and the Colombo
University Vice Chancellor Prof. Kshanika Hirimburegama.
KOICA farming technology and tissue culture specialist Prof. Kim Jae-ho,
Ruhuna University Agric Engineering Department Senior Lecturer C. P.
Rupasinghe, the KOICA Sri Lanka office Deputy Resident Representative
Choi Youngmee, fruit and vegetable growers, collectors, wholesale
sellers and retailers, officers from government institutions and
non-governmental organizations were present at this workshop, states a
press release issued by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
At this workshop, as part of Prof. Kim's technical advice, activities
in farm productivity and improvement and development through adaptation
for the agriculture sector in Sri Lanka was demonstrated. |
