Ministry funds to provide milk to schoolchildren

The Economic Development Ministry is ready to provide financial assistance if the Education Ministry launches a programme to provide fresh milk for schoolchildren, said Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa. He said so at a meeting to create awareness on Divi Neguma attended by education sector officials at the Economic Development Ministry on May 3.

The meeting was held to obtain the contribution of schoolchildren for Divi Neguma.

He pointed out the importance to uplift the liquid milk production in Sri Lanka.

Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena, Senior Ministers A H M Fowzi and Athauda Seneviratna, Education Ministry Secretary and officials from the education sector participated in the discussion.
