Mushroom cultivation a profitable industry

Edible mushroom cultivation is a profitable cottage industry, in
which mushroom occupies a promotional place in Sri Lanka. A good
substrate is a key factor that determines the profitability of the
mushroom cultivation.
The local and international demands for these exports are increasing
day by day. Mushroom is the highest demanding natural food product in
the international market and the local market. The cost of mushroom
production is very low.
Using modern technology to engage in mushroom production can enhance
the customer satisfaction. Encouraging the demand of mushroom is very
important because it is an ecofriendly agricultural product.
Encouraging local market and fulfilling the country uniqueness can
promote or produce the mushroom production to the international market.
However encouraging local competitive market with quality standards
maintained in conventional mushroom industry, the percentage of value
addition should be executed in a manner to fulfill strong consumer
requirements and environmental protection.
Using an eco-green system in production to combat global warming
offering social responsibilities to the competitors and the workers,
convenience and society sensory satisfaction are some of them.
Mushroom cultivation can be expanded with the support of the
government or private participation / organization.
How to develop mushroom cultivation
The quality of a service is one that meet customer requirements. The
quality is defined by the customer but not all customers are more
dynamic than traditional because rapid growth of the global market.
Therefore quality of the product that is being made is very important to
a company.
The mushroom industry should ensure standards of quality of their
production process. Packaging material and packaging process is a
significant issue for the quality production.
The value of truffles unmatched, it is exotic, yet it is unmatched,
it is exotic yet it is beneficial to mankind. It is recorded that the
consumption of truffles means that is immune to cancer for lifetime.
Growing in cold climates, truffles are sought after all over the world.
Improving profit maximization from the projects, campaigning and
workshop projects by exploiting the market opportunity to become
operations. Supporting a selected number of individuals who are
interested in self employment to engage in mushroom cultivation by
providing assistance in terms of technical, financial and management
guidance.
Expanding a brand manufacture and supply of mushrooms with islandwide
distribution networks and continuous supply with guaranteed quality
standards.
Assurance of quality is a form of value addition to mushroom
industry, which guarantees the production quality and the safety
standards to customers. Quality monitoring plays a major role, such
procedures in tea production when forced to adhere to food hygiene and
other quality parameters which provides assurance of food safety to
customers in developed countries.
Consumers are looking for reliable suppliers who can supply them on a
regular basis and at a good price with consistency in quality.
Developing country exporters must therefore be able to supply at a
consistent level of quality and according to agreed specifications.
Another factor is traceability of origin that makes it possible to
track and trace product throughout the production chain.
This entails heavy registration monitoring and controlled process.
When producing quality to products we are obliged to fulfill our
responsibility towards customers by maintaining the quality standard
levels from the very first step of the production process. A significant
factor is the quality certification of the ISO 9000, ISO 12000.. Having
the certification will improve the confidence of customers in the
particular product. Supply chain management is very important, because
the availability of the product in the market is paramount. The product
will go through several value addition levels before it reaches the end
consumer. But the product should always be available no matter whether a
local market or an international market. Having such characteristics
will create high demand and will also provide a competitive edge in the
world market.
This also helps the younger generation who are unemployed with many
job opportunities and also fulfill their requirements. It also helps
reduce the countries unemployment factor and develop the country.
