Mackwoods Energy launches high powered DV Gensets and the DV Series
has been designed and developed by Kirloskar to deliver reliable high
power in the ranges of 320 to 625 KVA.
The Kirloskar Green DV engines are environmentally friendly and
proven for their durability and reliability and are highly fuel
efficient . With Sri Lanka's economy moving towards a profound change
and the markets looking brighter with various progressive economic
development measures taken by the government, it is the right time to
introduce the high powered DV series range of power generators.
Launched in Sri Lanka and export markets, the DV Series will be
Co-Branded 'Mackpower - Kirloskar' which will significantly expand their
product offering to its customer needs in the higher power category
suited mainly for institutional applications such as manufacturing
industries, Hotels, Defence, CEB Grid connectivity, and Plantations.
The significant reliable power of Kirloskar Green DV genset series
was proven when it was selected to power the 2010 Commonwealth Games
held in New Delhi.
The entire opening and closing ceremonies were powered by DV power
gensets.
To ensure there was no interruption of the functions, the event was
run off-grid.
Twenty generators of 500 KVA each providing 10 mega watts,
synchronized together, was used to light up 1200 moving lights, 120
space cannons, 16 follow spots, 500,000 watts of sound, 50 kilometers
power cables, 24 tonne giant helium aerostat balloons used as a virtual
screen for laser lights and another 20 gensets synchronized as standby.
The gensets consist of a family of 8, 10 and 12 cylinder generating
power from 400 to 625 KVA, with 4 valve HPCI technology with best in its
class of fuel consumption, less emissions conforming to Euro II norms
and 100% bio diesel compliant.
The 'Mackpower- Kirloskar' High Powered DV series Launched in Sri

University of Glamorgan offers generous scholarships
The University of Glamorgan currently offers generous scholarships
for students from Sri Lanka. In September 2012 students can enrol on
Aerospace degree courses and receive a scholarship of £1,500 every year
off the cost of their fees.
This equates to £4,500 over three years. Indeed, this scholarship is
available on all undergraduate courses at Glamorgan.
BSc Aircraft Maintenance Engineering of University of Glamorgan is a
very popular course and offers students an exciting and challenging
career path.
Thanks to a recent £1.8m investment programme, the aerospace
engineering facilities are excellent. You will benefit from dedicated
aircraft experience with real aircraft facilities.
Glamorgan's Aircraft Maintenance Training Centre on the Treforest
campus offers the latest facilities, complete with engineering labs, its
own, full-size BAE Jetstream 31 commercial plane and an MP521 flight
simulator.
This aircraft maintenance engineering degree course offers excellent
career opportunities worldwide. The EASA Part-66 Licence qualifies its
holders to be selected for further aircraft-type authorisation before
being permitted to sign off aircraft for flight. You will get assistance
in finding placement opportunities through their extensive links with
aerospace companies. Not only throughout the UK, you will gain
employment across the world with aerospace companies, commercial
airlines, air-taxi operators, flying schools, the armed forces and
commercial long-haul flights. There is a growing market for maintenance,
repair and overhaul of military and commercial aircraft, or you may
choose sub-contract work. This is very much a hands- on practical
course, but the principles of aircraft maintenance engineering and
science run throughout. As well as the aircraft training, you will spend
time in lectures, tutorials, workshops and seminars. About 20 hours a
week doing research and studying current issues. Teaching will take
place at University of Glamorgan's Treforest Campus and the
International Centre for Aerospace Training (ICAT), which is adjacent to
Cardiff International Airport.
Angelos Stefanidis of Faculty of Advanced Technology Of University of
Glamorgan will be visiting Sri Lanka to conduct admission interviews for
aerospace courses on the May 4.
Students interested in applying for Aerospace courses or any other
programs at undergraduate and postgraduate level are invited to contact
the university's official representative in Sri Lanka, Anusha Hewage.
