HiFi Centre launches 'Harman Pro'

The Hifi Centre, part of the Debug Group of companies launched its range of professional audio products from Harman International at seven of its regional offices islandwide. The launch held last week at the Taj Samudra Hotel was attended by most of the leading audio professionals in Sri Lanka and business partners alike.

The panel consisting of Mark Lim, Director Harman Pro, Abbas Kamrudeen, Director The Hifi Center, Prabath Niroshan, General Manager Debug branch operations and Hasanjith Kuruppuarachi Head of Enterprise Solutions. The Hifi Center, went into detail on the Harman Products made available throughout its branch network and the reason for this expansion.

Kamrudeen said, "Since the end of the war we have seen a big change in the professional audio industry. Customers not only in Colombo but all over the country are becoming quality conscious. Musicians, sound contractors, event management firms, architects and our other clients expect quality products coupled with high standards of service and they are not willing to come to Colombo for this."

Lim said that Harman Professional is the world's largest professional audio company. Harman Professional companies include AKG Acoustics, BSS Audio, Crown International, dbx Professional, JBL Professional, Lexicon Pro, Soundcraft and Studer.

These companies design, manufacture and market leading professional audio products for recording and broadcast, musicians, cinema, touring sound, commercial sound and contracting applications.

The Hifi Centre commenced operations in 1968, catering to customer needs of high quality audio visual equipment by providing high-end products with superior quality and sound.

A decade later in July 1978, the business was incorporated as the Hifi Centre Ltd, and at present functions as part of the Debug Group of Companies. Thirty years of operation in the Sri Lankan market has enabled the Hifi Centre become the leading company for professional audio systems and the authorized distributor for world renowned Harman Professional Audio products.

"We insist on clients experiencing our products because we know they will feel the difference" said Kuruppuarachi. "Today the Hifi Centre is the market leader in the audio visual industry, successfully completing projects such as the Hambantota Convention Centre, Malu Malu Hotel, Nelum Pokuna sound equipment, Amethyst and many more specialized undertakings," he said. Combining the strength of the Debug Group and its network of 14 Regional Business Units (RBUs) islandwide.

The Hifi Centre is further enhancing its sales and service network by opening Harman Demo facilities at 7 RBUs including Debug Head office showroom on Marine Drive Wellawatta, Kandy, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura, Negombo, Matara and Jaffna.

In addition, the Hifi Centre plans to further increase its number of resellers to 50 by the end of 2012. Forging ahead with a customer centric business structure, the Hifi Centre is poised to meet the demanding needs of the Audio Visual industry with the latest cutting edge technology and dependable service.
