One Project for One Village programme:

Projects to be completed by June 30

The Economic Development Ministry has drawn up plans to complete all projects under "One Project for One Village programme" which is implemented along with the Gama Neguma programme by June 30, Economic Development Ministry Additional Secretary R.R.K.A. Ranwaka said.

"Under this project 14,000 villages will be developed throughout the country. Every Grama Niladhari Division will be allocated Rs one million", he said. "Road development, drinking water. small scale irrigation projects and construction of public buildings are some of programmes to be initiated under this project", he said.

"All activities will be implemented with the coordination of provincial committees appointed by the Economic Development Ministry.

'Three facilitators from the community will participate in meetings to discuss the requirements in their respective areas", he said.
