Dilani leads Sri Lanka women’s team

Dilani Manodara, an old girl of Bereverts College, Ampitiya will lead
the forthcoming tour of West Indies by the national ladies cricket team.
She started her cricket career from her school and later joined the
Kandy ladies cricket team.
Dilani had the privilege of joining the Slimline Company and from
there she was selected to the Sri Lanka side as a wicket-keeper
batswoman at the Asia Cup tournament held in Sri Lanka in the year 2006.
From there onwards she was the permanent wicket-keeper to-date at the
Sri Lanka ladies cricket team. Dilani joined the Sri Lanka women's
cricket team at the World Cup held in Australia in the year 2009 and had
the privilege of touring England in 2009 for the T20 World Cup and West
Indies in 2010 for the same tournament. She led the Sri Lanka side at
the World Cup qualifying matches in Bangladesh held in 2011.
The other girl who was selected to the Sri Lanka cricket team from
Kandy is Sripali Weerakkody. |
