Development, govt's aim - Dy minister

The government is marching forward ushering prosperity and development in all corners of the country, Education Deputy Minister Gamini Vijith Vijamuni Zoysa said.

He was speaking at a meeting at the Dambagalla Madulla Cultural Centre in the Madulla Divisional Secretariat recently regrading the implementation of the Pura Neguma Programme.

The programme will be launched islandwide at the end of this month to modernise small townships. Addressing the meeting, the deputy minister said the government is committed to building Sri Lanka the Wonder of Asia

The Finance and Planning Ministry has allocated Rs 50 million to uplift infrastructure facilities in Dambagalla in the Madulla Pradeshiya Saba area.

Building a shopping complex, upgrading the bus stand, establishing a children's park and providing other infrastructure facilities to Dambagalla Madulla township were discussed at the meeting.
