Rajitha to address Tokyo summit
The second summit of the Japan - Sri Lanka Centre for
Friendship,Trade and Culture begins in Tokyo, Japan today. Fisheries and
Aquatic Resources Development Minister Dr Rajitha Senaratne will deliver
the keynote address on ‘Development Goals of Sri Lanka’ at the summit, a
ministry spokesman said.
Minister Senaratne left for Japan on Friday to participate in the
summit and also to take part in the Sinhala and Tamil New Year Festival
in Tokyo.
The minister said he will discuss economic and cultural affairs with
Japanese officials. He said the summit will help get investment
opportunities to Sri Lanka from large scale Japanese investors and
attract Japanese tourists to Sri Lanka.
He will brief officials about the development programmes in Sri Lanka
after the end of the three decade conflict. Minister Senaratne will also
discuss with the Japanese business community about exporting fingerlings
to Japan. |
