Anuradha qualifies for London Olympics

Sri Lankan athlete Anuradha Indrajith Cooray booked a place in the 2012 London Olympics marathon when he finished the London Marathon with a timing of 2 hours 17 minutes and 50 seconds yesterday.

Cooray who finished overall 23rd, had to finish the marathon below 2 hours and 18 minutes if he is to achieve B Grade qualifying standards. He is the second athlete from Sri Lanka to qualify for the London Olympics 2012 after shuttler Niluka Karunaratne.
