Three persons were arrested with archaeologically valuable coins, gold pebbles and bangles in Konkadawala, Nawagaththegama on Sunday. Police said the antiquities are suspected to have been taken from a treasure trove.

Meanwhile, the Police seized 140 coins embedded with the historical emblem, thrishula, 55 gold pebbles and three bangles.

The suspects were produced before the Puttalam magistrate court yesterday.

Puttalam Police are investigating.
