Kidnapping of businessman; four suspects arrested
Four suspected of kidnapping a businessman in
Tissamaharama and demanded a Rs 3 million ransom were arrested by
the Criminal Investigation Unit of Tangalle on Friday. Acting on a
tip-off that a businessman in Saliyapura, Tissamaharama, had been
abducted and held hostage for a ransom, the CID team from Tangalle
carried out the raid and arrested two suspects.

remanded until March 15 by Galle Acting Magistrate A.P.G .
Sarathchandra when the accused was produced before him by the Galle
