Walagedara gets floodlight VB court

Matugama Pradeshiya Sabha built a new volleyball court at Walagedara in Matugama at a cost of 2.5 million rupees. Rs 400,000 was given by Western Provincial Councillor Chandrabanu Adikaram.

Sri Lanka Army's A and B teams, Navy, Airforce, Military Police, Police, Moragalla, Walasmulla and Walagedara vied for the Kumara Welgama Challenge trophy after the opening of the volleyball court.

Sri Lanka Navy team led by Moris Chaminda and Sri Lanka Air Force team led by Tharaka Abekoon qualified for the finals which was played under lights.

Navy beat Air Force and won Kumara Welgama Challenge Trophy.

The referees were Susantha Karunaratne and T A P Madura.
