Citrus opens in Hikkaduwa

Citrus Hotel after a five month refurbishment, which began last May, opened last Saturday adding more value to Hikkaduwa. The hotel owned by Citrus Leisure PLC would add 90 ultra luxury rooms. Zone’s first stage ready by March:

Atchuveli to attract foreign investors

The first stage of the Atchuveli industrial zone would be ready by March this year. Several local and foreign investors have expressed interest to commence operations. The President of The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yarlpanam, K. Poornachandran said that the first stage would include the developing of 25 acres and a further 67 acres would be added to the second stage. ‘Under the first stage 40 companies would operate and the total direct and indirect employment from the project would be over 6,000.’

Chamber of Commerce to focus on three key areas

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka will be working towards focusing on three key areas of skills development, improving trade and investment in the Asian Region, and promoting sustainable development. The importance of skills development, trade and investment, sustainable development and business excellence are even more critical to sustain the GDP growth rate of 8% for the year 2012, the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka President Asoka Hettigoda said at the 53rd Annual General Meeting held last week in Colombo.
