Another batch of rehabilitated LTTEers released

The Rehabilitation and Prisons Reforms Ministry released 73 rehabilitated former LTTE cadres at the Batticaloa Town Hall yesterday. Steps were taken to release them to society following their rehabilitation, Ministry sources stated. The event was held under the patronage of Rehabilitation and Prisons Reform Minister Chandrasiri Gajadeera. This group comprises eleven women and 72 men.

The group was rehabilitated at the Vavuniya - Poovantottam, Polonnaruwa – Welikanda and Marandamadu camps. Resettlement Deputy Minister Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan and Rehabilitation and Prisons Reforms Ministry Secretary A Dissanayake also participated in this event. Along with the programme, the ministry organized a cricket match between former LTTE cadres and Ministry officers yesterday evening, Ministry sources said.
