First Lady attends summit on children in Qatar
First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa left the island on Saturday to attend
the International Shaffallah Special Summit on children with special
needs in Qatar. The summit began yesterday and continues until Tuesday.
The First Ladies of 15 countries and Heads of International Health
Units have been invited to participate in the summit. First Lady
Rajapaksa participates in this event as the only representative from the
South Asia region. The First Lady had been invited by International
Shaffallah Organization chairman Hassan Ali Bin in appreciation of her
notable service to children with special needs in Sri Lanka. She was
given a warm welcome and special security.
Presidential Coordination Secretary Daya Gallage, Navy Seva Vanitha
Unit Chairperson Niluka Dissanayake and Consultant Dr Ranjini Gamage
also participated in this event. |
