Hasanka Lahiru blasts century

Azar Central College, Akurana coasted to an easy 8 wicket win over Wayamba Royal College, Kurunegala in their inter-school cricket match concluded at Azar grounds, Akurana.

But the player who really stale the show was Wayamba Royal’s right hand opener Hasanka Lahiru who blasted a quick fire 103 in just 53 balls hitting 12 sky scraper sixes and 3 fours.

He reached his hundred in 50 balls and was associated in an opening stand of 84 with Nilanga Pasindu whose contribution was only 8.

But Hasanka Lahiru’s heroics could not prevent his side sliding to a defeat as except for Avishka Chamal (37) others failed to rally round and fell prey to the off spin of M Z Anaz who captured 7 for 51 to return a match haul of 10 for 58.
