Family injured in road mishap

Four members of the same family including father, mother and their two children aged four years and two months respectively were injured in an accident involving their motorcycle and a lorry and bus near the 21st colony on the Galenbindunuwewa, Kahatagasdigiliya road on Wednesday.

The mother succumbed to her injuries while the foursome were rushed to the Galenbindunuwewa hospital.

The deceased a resident of Dutuwewa is 28 years old. Galenbindunuwewa Police said all three vehicles had been proceeding along the same direction towards Kahatagasdigiliya when the motorcycle had got crushed between a bus which stopped in front to drop a passenger and a lorry coming from behind.

The two drivers of the bus and lorry involved in the accident are in Police custody. Policy investigations are continuing.
