MAS Holdings is committed to ethical and sustainable practices that complement the balance in social and environmental spheres alongside its operations. MAS Holdings is a signatory to the UN Global Compact and is held as a global benchmark for initiatives championing the cause of women's empowerment under its flagship CSR initiative - Women Go Beyond covering tour main aspects: Supporting Career Advancement, Work Life Balance, Skills Development and Rewarding Excellence. The MAS Women Go Beyond programme was set up to recognize and reward women at MAS who have faced and overcome great challenges to achieve excellence and provide inspiration for others. These empowered women are then supported and developed as role models and ambassadors for progressive empowerment. With their strength of mind and the guidance and encouragement they have achieved excellence in their workplace at the same time fulfilling their life dreams. One element of MAS Holdings Women Go Beyond programme is about recognizing and rewarding these exceptional women and guiding them to achieve a balance in their work life as well as personal life.

By empowering these female employees MAS Holdings aims to inspire women with courage to break free from the chains of limitations that have traditionally kept them suppressed to see their true inner beauty and power. It also concentrates on their career enhancement and strengthening their work-life balance.

MAS Holdings is a pioneer and among one the few companies in Sri Lanka who set an example to other organizations in the apparel sector as well as private sector by introducing progressive leadership and ethical business practices.

"Respect, equal opportunities for women is part of the success story behind MAS, we firmly believed in empowering our female staff to support and uplift their lives, we set an example to the others in the apparel sector as well as the private sector being a leader in ethical business practices," Mahesh Amalean, stated.

The thirty three empowered women of MAS Holdings who received awards for their outstanding achievements are an example to their colleagues as well as to all the Sri Lankan women in the rural sector that comes from a less than fortunate background.

All these women have a story to tell, each is unique but all are inspirational. Coming from less privileged backgrounds, undergone hardship and trauma, has not stopped them from climbing the ladder of success and achieving their life goals.
