islandwide. People need to use food devoid of substances injurious to
health for this project to be a success, Indigenous Medicine Minister

He was addressing the Shad Asiriya programme at the Kaduwela
Provincial Secretarial yesterday.
The Shad Asiriya programme was organized with the collaboration of
the Sri Lanka Ayurvedic Corperation and the Western Provincial Ayurvedic
Department.
People at present, use food which is mixed with poisonous substances,
he said.
"On the other hand, the fast food culture leads us towards an
unhealthy life. To eliminate these harmful practices, people have to
concentrate on consuming food reaped from farming land," he added.
Steps also need to be taken to give life to the earth. If the people
dedicate themselves to resurrect their agricultural heritage, which is
gradually dying, they will be able to enjoy healthy food, he said.
