Remains lie at No. 56/7, De Saram Road, Mt. Lavinia from 15th December. Cortege leaves residence at 3.30 p.m. on Friday 16th December for cremation at General Cemetery, Mt. Lavinia at 4 p.m.           

Nagalingam Subramanian - Retired Senior Simultaneous Interpreter, Parliament, former Director of Information Ceylon Workers Congress, husband of late Sathyasigamani Subramaniam, beloved father of N.S. Wigneiswaran, late Shyamini Sashikala Subramaniam, Union Assurance Ltd, passed away on the 15th Dec 2011. Cremation at Madampitiya General Cemetery. Cortege leaves residence at 30/6 Elie House Rd, Colombo 15 at 11 A.M on Saturday 17th Dec. 2011. 

PERERA - A.M.S. (ANNESLEY) Beloved husband of Naomi, loving father of Dr. Nimi, Eromi, and Sheana, father-in-law of Dr Ranjit, Alpho and Shamilal. Precious grandfather of Dr Eshani, Dr Anouki, Rushil, Tehani, Sasha and Shihan, passed away peacefully in California on 8th December, 2011. Mortin Perera, loving mother of Merrill (Upali Newspapers Ltd), late Murphy, Pushpa, Vajira (retired I.C.L.), Nihal (Pilot Station - S.L.P.A.), Gunasil (Lake House) and Sunil (Master Wok - Moratuwa), loving mother-in-law of Ranjani Wimalasena, Mali, Kajanga and Kanthi, loving grandmother of Diluja (Classic Travel), Yasiru (Royal College), Navodya (Agamethi Balika Vidyalaya), Kavindri (Panadura Balika Vidyalaya) and Ravindu (Sri Sumangala College, Panadura), expired. Cremation 17th December Saturday at Walapala Cemetery. Cortege leaves at 4 p.m. 203, Walapala, Panadura.               

RANAWEERA - H.B. retired Divisional Superintendent of Post Offices and Justice of Peace. Dearly beloved husband of B.M. Ranaweera, loving father of Damayanthi (retired Sub Post Mistress), Upul (former member of Pathadumbara Pradeshiya Sabhawa), Dushyanthi (Assistant Accountant - Wijaya Newspapers), late Deepthi (Raju), Ranaweera loving father-in-law of Pathmasiri (retired Staff Technical Officer - Peradeniya University), Priyanthi and Jai (Journalist Lake House) expired. Funeral will take place at Udathalawinna Cemetery at 3.00 p.m. on 17th Saturday “Jayanthi”, Udathalawinna.                    365589 

RENGANATHAN - HAZEL (nee PERERA) - Dearly beloved wife of the late P Renganathan (Attorney-at-Law, Trincomalee), precious mother of Rajkumar (Renga), Kumudini and Sharmini, grandmother of Tiasha and Tehani, sister of Lilamani, Priyantha, Dr Chrishantha and Srinath, mother-in-law of Tania and Joe. Cortege leaves residence No. 33/7, De Fonseka Place, Colombo 5 at 3.15 p.m. for Cremation at the General Cemetery Kanatte at 4 p.m. on Friday 16th December. (No flowers by request).                 

THURAIRAJAH - V.S. (Architect), passed away Wednesday 14 December 2011 in Sydney, Australia. He leaves behind his loving wife Rani, his beloved children Vathsala, Manju, Suren and Sashi and son-in-law Nishakaran Thirunavukarasu, Kumar Sri-Pathma, daughter-in-law Shyamala (nee Pathmanathan) and Nimalan Rajaratnam. He will be missed by his adoring eldest granddaughter, Meera and her husband Ramanan, his friend and eldest grandson Rishyan and his young grandchildren Sujan, Sarala, Sarita, Maya and Shreya, beloved brother of the late Dr. V.S. Ponnudurai and Mr. V.S. Selvanayagam, he is survived by his two younger brothers Dr. V.S. Karunagaran and his wife Thevaki and Mr. V.S. Gananathan and his wife Sakunthala. Born and raised in Jaffna, Ceylon. He was the son of Vellupillai Suppiah and Thangacchimuttu. Fondly known to many as Architect Thurairajah. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and many in the Tamil community in Sydney Australia and the global society. A funeral service will be held on Saturday 17 December 2011 on the arrival of the cortege at 12.15 p.m. at the Palm Chapel, Macquarie Park Crematorium, Delhi and Plassey Roads, North Ryde, NSW 2113, Australia.      

WEERASINGHE - MRS LEELADARA SOMAWATHIE DE ALWIS  Beloved wife of K. Jinadasa Mendis, ever loving mother of K.T. Shantha Mendis (Lake House - Production Department), Neal Asoka Mendis (Businessman), Renuka Mendis (England), Rashika Mendis (Italy), Devika Mendis (Italy), mother-in-law of Devika Chitranganie Mendis, Kumari, Amarasinghe, Sarath Samarakoon (England), Anura Ranasinghe (Italy), Sarath (Italy), expired. Funeral will take place at Battaramulla General Cemetery at 4.00 p.m. on 17th December 2011. Remains lie at the residence at No. 689 A, Akuregoda Rd., Pelawatta, Battaramulla.
