Colombo Fort races :
Roads closed between 7pm to 6am
Several roads will be closed to traffic today and tomorrow due to the
motor races being held in the Colombo Fort area.
The race track starting from Galadari Hotel in Lotus Road, Fort
through Ceramic junction, left from CTO junction to Chatham Street, Duke
Street, Baron Jayathilaka Mawatha, left from Baron Jayathilake Mawatha
towards York Street, Bank Street to Janadipathi Mawatha, via N.S.A.
Roundabout to Lotus Road, back to the starting point.
Roads mentioned below will be closed for lorries and buses entering
Fort today from 7pm to 6am Saturday.
The roads will be closed again at 6pm on Saturday to 6am on Sunday.
Colpetty junction, Pittala Junction, Ibbanwala Junction, Gamini
Roundabout, Ceynor Junction, Khan Roundabout. Roads mentioned below will
be closed for all vehicles entering Fort today from 7pm to 6am Saturday
and 6pm Saturday to 6am Sunday.
From Galle Face Roundabout, Regal Roudnabout, Khan Roundabout, Olcott
Mawatha, Ceynor Junction. Route to be taken by buses and other vehicles
entering Colombo Fort along Galle Road or leaving along Galle Road.
Galle Road to Colpetty junction, Pittala junction, Lipton Roundabout
and turn right at Ibbanwala junction and proceed to Maradana junction
and via Technical junction to Colombo Fort.
The same route should be used to go back by turning at Ceynor
junction. Route to be taken by buses and other vehicles entering Colombo
Fort along Havelock Road or leaving along Havelock Road. De soyza
Roundabout, turn right at Ibbanwala junction, Maradana junction and then
via Technical junction to reach Colombo Fort. The same route should be
used to go back by turning at Ceynor junction.
Vehicles heading towards Fort via any other routes should turn at
Ceynor junction and take the same route back.
Electric Peacock Festival attendees today you will be permitted to
proceed beyond the Galle Face roundabout, they will have to park their
vehicles at the Shangri La grounds (Old Army Grounds) and walk to the
event premises." |
