Investors anxious to invest in the North - BOI

The Board of Investment (BOI) Jaffna Region Deputy Director R Jeyamanon said that foreign as well as local investors are anxious to invest in 26 investment schemes in the North. Tourism, hotel management, garment industry and ice production are some of the fields of investment the investors are interested in. The foreign and local investors are willing to invest in 10 schemes.

They have earmarked schemes for investment in Kilinochchi, Mannar and Vavuniya. A scheme at a cost of Rs 5,600m is among the schemes to be implemented in the Vavuniya and Mannar districts. Investors from Japan, China, Malaysia and Singapore are engaged in feasibility study of investment in the Northern Province, he said.
