BenQ launches at ‘Image Today’

The 7BenQ camera models launched include the P1410, S1430, LM100, AE200, AE100, C1460, and the C1430, all of which feature a variety of high-tech options as well exciting fun tools to make picture taking highly enjoyable as well as 720p, high definition video recording.

Digital House hopes to launch a professional camera series specially aimed at photographers. These advanced devices will feature 21X optical zoom, a 16:9 aspect ratio, 100Mb of built-in memory and 16 megapixels of camera quality.

Hutch Shop opens in Akkaraipattu

Atlas obtains exclusive image branding license

Atlas, recently obtained the exclusive licence to publish images of several popular children’s cartoon characters and superheroes on its range of stationery products.As the authorized licensee Atlas is entitled to brand its products with images of Marvel Superheroes, including Wolverine, Thor, Iron Man the First Avenger and the ever popular Spiderman.

The company also obtained rights for the Ben 10 range of images, including Ben 10, Ben 10 Alien Force and Ben 10 Ultimate, as well as children’s cartoon The Power puff Girls.

“According to the agreement, the company is legally entitled to use these images, in contrast to the number of stationery products carrying illegal pirated images that are currently flooding themarket”, Atlas COO and Director Nishantha Hennadige said.

“Importers, distributors, whole sellers and retailers stocking and selling these pirated images are committing an offence and are punishable by law”, he added.


ACL Cables wins SLS Award for supreme-quality ‘armoured cables’

Demand for ERP software rising worldwide

The worldwide enterprise software market is growing rapidly and consistently, according to a recent study published by research firm Gartner.

The study, entitled Market Share Analysis, Enterprise Software Worldwide 2010, found that the enterprise software market grew considerably in 2010, reaching a global market value of over $ 245 billion. This represents an increase of 8.5 percent over the market value in 2009, which was estimated at $ 226 billion.

The benefits of ERP are considered to be so obvious that businesses continue to jump into the market either as first time buyers or else to upgrade. Some of the benefits include cutting costs, saving money on huge margins, proper communication, and avoiding procedural delays. In terms of benefits not as readily visible, ERP software enhances flexibility due to immediate accessibility of data, improves quality due to the identification of problem areas, and helps with faster and better decision making because everyone shares the same, accurate information.

Among the leading ERP vendors are SAP, Oracle, Microsoft and a host of other Tier 2 software companies.

SAP is by far the dominant supplier with over 100,000 customers worldwide and revenues in excess of Euro 12 billion last year.
