Translators' pool to be set up

The Official Languages Department will establish a pool of translators to solve the shortage of translators which has become a serious concern when implementing the Official Languages policy.

The translators' pool will be under the purview of the Official Languages Department. All government and semi-government institutes can receive translators' services through this pool.

There are 150 translators in this pool. Services can be obtained by making a payment according to the Public Administration Circular 2003/12 (I) dated October 20,2010.

Official Languages Commissioner said this pool should recruit new translators annually. Applications will be called at the beginning of next year. For further details, visit www.languagesdept.gov.lk.
